Here is a multimedia project I created solo about how silly MySpace, FaceBook, and Twitter are in my personal opinion. Honestly I see them more as a place for people to showboat themselves. The problem with this is that these are people that sound not be showboating anything. Taking pictures of yourself naked and putting them on your page does not make you awesome it makes you easy. Giving a site applications does not make it cool; it makes it cluttered. All in all, people are usually uninteresting and yet we have so many sites devoted to the cause of stalking them anyways.

Newspapers in Motion
Over the weekend I found two newpaper sites that offered video on the top 100 newspapers online in America. It would seem that all the top newspapers in America have a section right on their home page for multimedia and display the lastest in their archieve of video such as
The New York Times.
The NYT has a large library of news videos that are presentable and offer great sound quality. The section is easy to find and navigate since all you have to do is locate that 4x5 inch black video box.
Newspapers like Salt Lake City Tribune also offer a multimedia section on their home page. However, there is no lastest preveiw like in The New Yorker so the section is not zAlso, the multimedia consists of slideshows as well as video without the massive variety.
All in all it would seem any newspaper in the topp 100 of America has video on their site and manages the section with at least some amount craft; some just have more than others, and that's why their higher on the list!

iReport
The following videos are from iReport.com:
Video Game Factory Line:
This video I found very interesting as it talked about, roughly, how a game is made, at least down at MIT. The segment was particularly well done and certinaly telvision ready and worthy. If I was on CNN's dork news I'd put this up there. It takes a lot of time out of leveling up to go out and get those interveiws afterall!
Jazan Wild
This slide-show put on display the comic artwork of Jazan Wild. Recently released (2008), I found the artwork to be wonderfully done. After seeing this I really want to go and check out the series. Granted, this small bit of news might not be worthy enough to up on CNN but for anyone looking for a gruesome new comic book series, it's a sweet find.
Spiritual, but not Religious
Seeing as how Easter was this past Sunday, I decided to put up a video abut faith. Here is a woman on iReport that have many of the same values that I share as well as parts that got me thinking. I think that her video is very well written for the people in the "gray area", that is to say, people that appreciate religion but are not overzelous about it. Seeing as how CNN has taken other videos that broadcast one person's opinion- I believe that this one would been well worth considering. At the very least, maybe it will inspire you to put down the second or third chocolate bunny next year.

Art Photo Gallery
Thanks to Miami New Times, this photo-only slide show details the Wynward Art Walk held in Miami all in the sake of art. The photos show not only the people that went out on the walk but the beautiful works of art found in different galleries in the area. If you like art (there's paintings, graffiti, sculpture, ect) it's worth clicking though to see what's new on the south coast. Interesting, colorful. social.
Funny Audio Slide
Provided by YouTube, I found a slide show a few months ago that takes a sarcastic and critical eye at human society as a whole. In this slide, the audio tells the story and the pictures accommodate,s o pay attention. It's a laugh. it's short, it might even make you think.

Podcasts for All
Over this Winter Break I took a look at some audio podcasts courtesy of iTunes. I decided I'd try to get a variety in my listening pleasures.
Starting off we have the pod "Stuff You Should Know". This pod reminded me of that television show MythBusters. It's that kind of educational that they somehow actually managed to make interesting. With flawless sound quality, he show takes on a wide range of wonders including: Can people really die of fright?, How moonshine works, and Did the CIA test LSD on unsuspecting Americans? The answers could surprise you and I'm seriously considering staying updated on random facts past this assignment.
Next I took a look at "Sarcastic Gamer", which I also to found to have fantastic sound quality. This pod cast is hosted by, indeed, a sarcastic host talking about the finer points in the gaming industry often taking on interviews to create more than entertaining debates between nerds. Complete with reviews, tips, and industry news Sarcastic Gamer gives you an opinion. If your big into video games this is certainly worth plugging into to get your latest buzz.
Finally, for comedy's sake, I listened to "The Adam Carrolla Radio Show KLSX". Adam Carrolla, an old personal favorite, continues his style of being crude and not politically correct in the least in his radio show. Not for the faint of heart or the kiddies. However, his show is much like getting weird facts hanging out with your friends in a smoky basement. A laid-back vibe and quick wit from the entire cast keep you laughing out loud.
All with great quality, I'd recommend any of the above. Thanks for listening!

Moss graffiti
In the world of art, I came across an amazing article covering the work of Anna Garforth that uses moss as a medium for graffiti. This "Environmental Graffiti" not only makes the world a prettier place but also causes no harm doing it. Thumbs up to you Anna Garforth.

Fellow Americans and internet viewers, we have gone too far my friends, there are children involved now.

Lyndon State Recruits
Blurb: How does a coach get a player into the snowy depths of Vermont? Apparently, it is quite the task.
Story: In an article written by Lyndon State's own Sam Monroe, a light is shed on the hardships of a small college recruiting upcomming students. According to our coaches it is all about networking and putting in the effort.
Coaches at a smaller college, such as LSC, work within a limited range of networking but those ties are still present. The cross-country coach Chris Ummer has even previously used a summer camp for recruiting aid.
Although each sport has their own director that does things their own way, they all understand the imporance of good impressions. Coaches have to sell the advantage points of comming to LSC and meet with the induviduals.
Unfortunatly, many of the college and high school seasons run at the same time and coaches say they do not get the time they wished they had to see the athletes play in person.
In the end, coaches hope to entice the younger generation into a campus visit to see for themselves the rolling mountains and green trees.
For any questions about Lyndon State College Athletics visit the Athletic's Site.

Lyndon State Professors Survive Crash
Blurb: Last Thursday two Lyndon State professors borded an airplane. After take-off, everything weent awry.
Story: Professor John Dumont and George Johnson were attending a student weel-fare conference in the the Big Apple. Having completed their time in New York the pair prepared to leave the city and come back to the green state of Vermont.
The crowd was small in La Guardia airport and people were quickly ushered in as soon as the attendent could allow. There wass no mention of complications on the place then or when the ominous voice over the speaker system asked them to enjoy the flight.
Immediately after take off the flight was not enjoyable. For reasons not released yet to the public, Flight 697 went down. Fourty five people were on the plane, five people died with a currently unknown amount of injuries. Miraculously, Professor Dumont and Johnson not only escaped the death count, but were uninjured as well. Lyndon State will be hosting a "Welcome Home Safely" gathering at the school; just as soon as their car arrives.

Coolest time to be liberal since the civil war
The Raw Story released coverage yesterday on memos written by former Bush Administration that could be made public. The article by John Byrne states that "The memos track new details about dozens of secret Bush Administration legal positions on torture, detention and warrantless wiretapping."
Propublica, a non-profit investigative news outlet, claims that at least three dozen memos have not been publicly released. These memos chould shed light or condemn the controversies about many of the former administrations policies during office. It would seem that little outside of suspicion is known to the public about what lies on those memo lines.
The memo titles are available, however and include:
"Fourth Amendment doesn't apply to military operations abroad or in U.S."
"Legal standards for intelligence methods" and
"Rolls back narrow definition of tourture".
If they find that the memos had no original classification, there could be a "show down" for rights, as the article perfectly describes. The newly appointed Attorney General Eric Holder openly admits to being gung-ho about the idea of declassifying the information.
“Once the new Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Office of Legal Counsel is confirmed, I plan to instruct that official to review the OLC’s policies relating to publication of its opinions with the [objective] of making its opinions available to the maximum extent consistent with sound practice and competing concerns,” Holder wrote.
With controversial memos from the past being unburied and the overwhelming support of recently appointed President Obama is would seem that now is the coolest time to be a liberal since the civil war. So cool in fact it's reached the popular media of the youngest minorities: MTV. Young Jeezy's newest release "My President is Black" shows how far this support has reached the most unlikely places. For republicans and fence-straddlers, I hope it at least makes you giggle.

Pimpin' Out the Blog
I decided that if I was going to set up a blog then I'll do it with all my favorite things in mind. In exact terms I'm choosing music, movies, and comics. I added the new listings gadget from Google to keep updated on the latest in these entertainments. I also added a slide show of music related pictures, just for now until I get to uploading some of my favorite music videos. I also added in a stationary photo highlighting my favorite of the week! Introduce yourselves to Mega Tokyo, an online based comic by talented Fred Gallagher. {Click the title of this post to check out the site!} In recent years the comic became so successful that the story can now be bought in manga stores across the globe further proving the internet to be a glorious thing.
